Announcing Viam’s $30M Series C fundraise

Funds from Union Square Ventures and Neurone — with the families behind iconic brands such as Ferrari as co-investors — will power Viam’s global growth across enterprise sectors.

CEO & Founder

Today, Viam’s global ambitions are becoming real. I’m proud to share that Viam has raised a new round of investment. Joining Union Square Ventures and Battery Ventures on our cap table is European growth investor and venture builder Neurone, a firm led by one of Italy’s most celebrated entrepreneurs, Teodoro D’Ambrosio. These funds will help us accelerate our expansion into Europe, where a new generation of business leaders are adopting technology to bring legacy infrastructure into the age of AI, data, and automation.

Welcoming global investors

Neurone has been on the leading edge of investors facilitating the evolution of industries like manufacturing, a vertical important to Viam given our ability to make a huge impact. A thesis-driven investment firm with a portfolio that spans fintech, robotics, automation, biotech, and digital transformation, Neurone originally reached out to Viam a few years ago, just as we were moving into our first office. Teo shared my vision about the missing software layer connecting AI and data to the physical world from day one, and I couldn’t be more excited to officially bring Neurone on in an official capacity with this raise. In addition to their deep sector expertise, Neurone’s co-investors are a who’s-who of European entrepreneurial success stories and industrial powerhouses, like the Ferrari Family, many of whom are already exploring ways Viam can help their companies unlock the potential of data and AI.

To further support our European expansion, we’re building a sales team on the ground, starting in Italy, under our Global Head of Sales & Partnerships, Eddie Sharkey, and expect to share more hiring and client news in the near future.

Building a future with AI in the physical world

In a few short years—in an AI landscape that has become increasingly noisy—Viam stands apart in our ability to bring AI into the real world. Our platform simplifies, and dramatically speeds up, a company’s ability to improve existing systems and processes, build new products, and spin up new business lines, all by making use of technology and data likely already in hand. Our early successes in sports and entertainment, food and beverage, marine technology, and manufacturing demonstrate every day that AI is neither a trending topic nor a dystopian vision but a real-world, real-life way to bring data and automation into the physical world to help companies succeed. That’s how we support our customers, and that’s how we can support you.

Let’s get started.
